Geetly

Copyright and takedowns

Every song on Geetly is made by AI from original words, and our filters refuse requests for real singers and existing songs. If a song or a page on Geetly still uses your work without permission, tell us here. A song named in a complete notice leaves Discover at once and its share page goes dark; a person confirms within 36 hours.

What happens to a notice

As soon as a complete notice arrives, every song and page it names is hidden from Discover and from its link, and the creator is told. Within 36 hours a person checks that the notice is complete and that the song is what you say, as India's Copyright Rules, 2013 (rule 75) and the United States' DMCA (17 U.S.C. §512) ask of us. A notice that is incomplete, abusive or plainly wrong is rejected and the song returns.

A valid notice earns the creator a strike. Three active strikes pause their publishing; five close their account. A song taken down after a notice stays in the creator's private library and cannot be published again.

Counter-notices

The creator may answer from the app with a counter-notice: their name, postal address and phone, a statement under penalty of perjury that they believe in good faith the song was removed by mistake or misidentification, and, for DMCA notices, consent to the jurisdiction of the federal court for their address. We pass the counter-notice to you at the email you gave.

Under the DMCA the song returns no sooner than ten and no later than fourteen business days after the counter-notice, unless you tell us you have filed a court action against the creator. Under India's rules the song returns after twenty-one days unless we receive a court order.

Who may send a notice

The owner of the work, or someone authorised to act for them. The notice must name the work, the Geetly links, how to reach you, a statement of good faith, a statement under penalty of perjury that the notice is accurate and that you are the owner or authorised, and your signature. A knowingly false notice has legal consequences, including liability for damages under 17 U.S.C. §512(f).
